Advertising and sponsorship policy
This policy explains how commercial messages, sponsorships and editorial independence are handled on Plenius.
1. Separation from editorial work
Advertising may appear beside editorial content, but paid placement does not determine article conclusions, source selection or correction decisions. Commercial material should be recognisable through labels such as “Advertisement” or “Sponsored”.
Readers should be able to distinguish a paid message from a Plenius article without relying on colour alone. Links in advertising may lead to third-party pages with separate terms and privacy notices.
2. Accepted categories
We consider messages that are lawful, accurately described and consistent with a general informational environment. We do not knowingly accept promotions for restricted goods, unsafe conduct, deceptive financial schemes, misleading health claims or content unsuitable for a broad audience.
Campaigns are reviewed for destination-page quality, transparent pricing where relevant, clear identity and compliance with applicable advertising rules. Acceptance of a campaign is not an endorsement of its claims.
3. Disclosure and labelling
Sponsored features, paid links and material relationships are labelled near the relevant content. The label remains visible on common screen sizes and is not hidden in a footer or hover-only interface.
Editorial articles may mention a service for public-interest context, but that mention is not paid placement unless clearly stated. Affiliate arrangements, where used, are disclosed on the page concerned.
4. Review and monitoring
We may review a campaign before publication and during its scheduled run. A message may be paused for a broken destination, changed claim, user complaint, regulatory concern or mismatch with this policy.
Reports are recorded with the date, campaign identifier, concern and outcome. We aim to acknowledge a report within five working days and assess it within 15 working days.
5. Contact and conflicts
Advertisers and readers can contact Plenius at 78 High Street, Chelmsford, Essex CM1 1DE, United Kingdom, or +44 131 496 0743. Commercial discussions are handled separately from editorial complaints.
6. Revision history
This policy was reviewed on 5 October 2026. Material changes to labels, accepted categories or review procedures will be dated on the next published version.
Commercial material is assessed separately from editorial commissioning and is placed so that a reasonable reader can recognise its status. Labels should be visible on the page, readable on small screens and repeated where a layout could otherwise make the distinction unclear. Paid links are checked for destination identity, and a link may be removed if the destination changes in a way that no longer meets the policy.
Campaign records may include the advertiser’s legal identity, contact details, destination URL, approval notes and dates of review. These records are normally retained for up to 24 months after the campaign ends so that complaints and compliance questions can be investigated. Billing or contract records may be retained for the period required by UK tax and accounting obligations.
Plenius does not accept copy that relies on unsupported health outcomes, fabricated reviews, restricted products, deceptive pricing, misleading scarcity or unclear commercial identity. A campaign can be paused while a claim or destination is checked, and acceptance of one version does not approve later edits. Advertisers remain responsible for the accuracy and legality of their own materials.
Readers may report a missing label, inaccurate claim or unsuitable destination to 78 High Street, Chelmsford, Essex CM1 1DE, United Kingdom, or by calling +44 131 496 0743. We aim to acknowledge a report within five working days and review it within 20 working days. The reporter’s details are used to manage the concern and are normally removed within 12 months after closure unless a longer period is required for a legal or compliance record.
This policy was reviewed on 5 October 2026. Material revisions are dated and recorded in the advertising review log, while minor wording changes may be made without altering the underlying separation between paid messages and editorial work.
